Education


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering (or equivalent experience).

Technical Skills


• Proven Experience as Application Developer and Application Support for 4 to 8 years.


• Proven Experience working with Programming: Java, C#, .NET, or Python for 4 to 8 years experience.


• Proven Experience working with Databases: SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL — strong ability to write and debug SQL queries for 5 to 8 years.


• Proven Experience working with Web Technologies: REST/SOAP APIs, XML, JSON, HTML basics for 4 to 8 years.


• Proven Experience using Tools: Jira, ServiceNow, Git, Jenkins, Postman, Splunk (for log analysis) 4 to 8 years.


• Proven Experience working with Scripting: PowerShell, Python, or Shell for automation.


• Experience/ Familiarity with insurance systems such as: Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, or in-house insurance platforms.

Health-related systems like Global Health Access (GHA) portals or partner integrations.


• Understanding of integration flows between internal systems and third-party vendors (medical networks, reinsurers, payment processors).

Soft Skills


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing production issues.


• Clear communication — able to explain technical findings to business users.


• Ability to prioritize under pressure, especially during incident response.


• Collaboration with cross-functional teams (business, IT, vendors).


• High attention to detail and accountability for system reliability.

Job Description

The Application Developer/Support Engineer plays a key role in maintaining, enhancing, and supporting core insurance applications — including policy administration, claims, billing, and health access systems (like GHA).

You'll handle production issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop new features or integrations to support business growth.

This position combines technical expertise with insurance domain knowledge, ensuring that critical business systems remain stable, efficient, and compliant.

Application Support

Provide day-to-day production support for insurance applications (policy, claims, billing, underwriting, or health access).Monitor application performance and handle incidents, user tickets, and system alerts.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to claims processing, policy transactions, or premium calculations.Work with business users, underwriters, and operations teams to understand and resolve system issues.Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes or workarounds.Manage support queues through ServiceNow, Jira, or similar ticketing tools.

Development & Enhancement

  • Design, code, and test application enhancements and interface integrations between systems (e.g., core insurance system Global Health Access portal).

  • Develop automation scripts, API connections, and data transformation tools.

  • Implement business rule updates and policy logic changes based on new product requirements.

  • Work closely with business analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams for smooth delivery.

  • Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and version releases.

Continuous Improvement

  • Automate regular monitoring, reporting, and data reconciliation tasks.

  • Identify and propose improvements to application workflows and system performance.

  • Maintain documentation for issue resolutions, configurations, and deployments.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory standards, and data privacy laws (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
