Job Description:

At least 5 years of Manual QA experience
Should have at least 2-3 of SQL and API testing experience

I.

POSITION OBJECTIVES / JOB SUMMARY
Ensures that business requirement specification are analyzed, understood properly, and able to translate into functional specifications and test cases.


Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify if programs are functioning according to user requirements and conform to established guidelines.


Ensures that the system is released conforming to the functions and requirements set and agreed by the customer and development, supported by the Test Summary Report and/or Acceptance Test Certificate.


Reviews test cases and test reports created by team members.
Provides valuable inputs on improving processes within ESSPI and arising from system-related changes.
Applies knowledge and experience to mostly routine situations; application of working or functional
knowledge and capability in a particular process or method; performs independent action according to
acceptable standards and guidelines; may require minimal assistance in unfamiliar situations.

KEY RESULTS AREAS / JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1.

Quality Process Mastery
a.

Understand and comply with the defined and agreed Software Development Life Cycle and CMMI standards of the organization.


b.

Understands various approaches used in testing such as System, Integration and Regression.


c.

Able to apply appropriate test design techniques in writing test cases.
d.

Creates test effort estimation based on the provided requirements for small to large sized
projects.
e.

Develops effective test strategies and plans.

Creates a Master Test Plan.
f.

Reviews test cases and test scripts written by any team members.

Make recommendations as necessary.
g.

Able to apply appropriate test design techniques in writing test cases.
h.

Writes test cases and test scripts, creates test data and requirement traceability matrix.
i.

Properly executes the given test cases / test scripts, identifies the correct behavior of the
system under test, replicates and reports uncovered defects.


j.

Tests and certifies software defect fixes and new functionality.

Executes functional,
application and regression tests for software releases.
k.

Performs the activities necessary to execute tests in accordance with the test plan and test design (including setting up tests and test data).


l.

Writes clear and precise defect reports as required for identified software defects and
functional defects based on testing results.


m.

Writes and submits Test Summary Report and/or Acceptance Test Certificate.


n.

Facilitates the peer review of the RTM, test cases and test summary report and/or acceptance test certificate.
o.

Reviews and analyzes test results and makes recommendations.
p.

Enforces quality procedures and guidelines across the Software Development Life Cycle.
q.

Contributes to the continuous improvement of the QA procedures and guidelines.


r.

Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, break down high-level information into details, abstract up low-level information to a general
understanding, and classify user requests between must have and not.
s.

Deliver the following documents as needed Functional Requirements and Use Cases by
proactively communicating and collaborating with customers to analyze information needs and business requirements.
t.

Satisfy customer by providing clear testing specifications and quality product according to specified requirements.


u.

Collaborates with Automation Quality Analysts for the initiation of automation testing for the project if possible.
v.

Executes the automated testing and perform maintenance (if necessary and/or requested by the customer).
w.

Exhibits confidence in understanding the business concerns and provides sound business suggestions and recommendations accordingly.
2.

Administrative Tasks
a.

Records activities in ATLAS and reports/elevates issues to superior when needed.


b.

Conducts needed validation to ensure compliance to the procedures in CMMI.


c.

Prepares and submits needed reports.


d.

Able to lead testing activities, handle, and resolve minor risks and issues.
e.

Mentors and guides Junior Manual Quality Analyst and Manual Quality Analyst.
3.

Teamwork
a.

Closely coordinates with other team members of the applications development and support.


b.

Facilitates effective team interaction adhering to the values of the company and meeting the
objectives.


c.

Ability to adjust flexibly to help other team members to ensure continuity of providing service.

a.

Expand knowledge on business process and IT related information
b.

Stay abreast of current technology, system information, problems, changes and updates
relevant to the team.

Performance of other tasks as maybe assigned.

IV.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
The candidate must have:
● obtained a Bachelor's or College degree in either of the following - Industrial Engineering,
Management Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
Information Technology and/or related field.


● at least five (5) years working experience in Quality Assurance and/or testing;
● Must be proficient in writing test cases and test scripts;
● Must have an experience in creating a Master Test plan;
● Must have an in-depth understanding of Test Design Techniques, QA methodologies and
Software Development Life Cycle (both Waterfall and Agile Development);
● With extensive knowledge of QA testing tools, different test design techniques, standards and
processes;
● Exposure in business operations related to manufacturing, distribution and financial
operations will be an advantage;
● Experience in various system development environment;
● Experience in leading a small QA team in a small to medium sized projects will be an
advantage;
● ISTQB Testing certification is a plus but not required;
